- The agreement that was reached was that if' the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology permits an increase in the number of professor openings, the University Administration" would give the College of Economics and Management a chance to hire additional professors. A few days ago, we had a meeting with the dean of Student Affairs. We asked him about the subject in an interview with the Chungdae Newspaper. He said thar he had never said such a thing. Maybe there were some mistakes in how his words were received.  
   The College of Economics and Management students are suffering from lack of adequate facilities. They pay their tuition the same as other College students, but an equal opportunity to be taught by and seek help from their professors is not there. In the College of Economics and Management, central heating is not installed and the equipment is very poor. This matter is now under discussion.

2. What kind of activities will you undertake in order to increase the number of professors?

    - We have formed a committee to promote the hiring of new professors. We made a proclamation, submitted a request and did a sit-in protest in front of the white horse statue. We started the sit-in protest co let all the students know that this problem is not only in the College of Economics and Management, but also a serious matter that can threaten all students' ability' to study. Furthemore, we carried on a 'Tie a Ribbon Campaign' where we hung up a ribbon with a written message to President Song. Student presidents of each College and the dean of the Office of Student Affairs met once or twice a day and established a negotiation system.

3. 'Action Day' concerned Professor expansion in the College of Economics and Management and proceeded on May 19th. Please give an detailed explanation of Action Day.

    - We planned 'Action Day' to express our mortification at asnd to show our commitment to solving this problem. In the process, we had a meeting with President Sung. After that meeting, we concluded that President Song does not try to communicate with students and therefore we thought it is not only the College of Economics and Management's problem, it is a campus-wide problem. Consequently, we made a plan again the next clay and we started to announce it to students. We wish to protect Chungnam student's rights to education together.

4. What is President Song and the University Administration's reaction to the demand for expanding the number of professors?

    - In the face-to-face talk with President Song, I explained the serious condition in the College of Economics and Management and presented various data. however, President Song just wanted to move on to other topics after listening to the story inattentively and did not answer questions. He asked me again why the University Administration has to take the responsibility fur shortage problem. Furthermore, President Song used slang when addressing the student president's demand to callhin student president as official designation. The University Administration thinks that We are going to get tried and eventually give up.
