“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.” – Albert Einstein

The weather has gradually turned chilly, and it is hard to believe that the end of 2023 is just around the corner. How has 2023 been for all of you? For me, this past year has felt like a continuous stream of novelty and astonishment. At the beginning of the year, I took on the role of editor-in-chief of The Chungdae Post, where I had already been active for the past four years. Through dedicated effort, I also achieved a professional certification that I had long desired.

Furthermore, I completed the Chungnam National University Baekma Internship program twice in a row, gaining practical experience in the workplace and taking another step toward working as a professional. In particular, my experience leading and interpreting for ambassadors from eight different countries and delivering career education as an instructor at middle and high schools during my internship stand out the most in my memory. In this way, this year has been filled with numerous valuable experiences that I could not have imagined in the past.

In this 273rd edition of The Chungdae Post, we focus on the themes of the past, present, and future. The articles cover newly established facilities on campus and introduce Universität Erfurt, one of the oldest universities in Germany, where a reporter is currently studying as an exchange student. Furthermore, we delve into the responses of corporations in the face of rapid climate change and address ongoing issues such as abortion and the ‘Internet real-name system.’ Additionally, there are articles on the emerging consumer trends of ‘showrooming’ and ‘reverse showrooming,’ the steep rise in movie ticket prices, and a tribute to the legendary jazz pianist Bill Evans.

While preparing this issue, I stumbled upon a quote from Albert Einstein, the greatest physicist in history: “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.” In this ever-changing world, these words resonate deeply. With every article, we endeavor to reflect on the lessons of the past, understand the realities of today, and cultivate hope for a brighter future.

At The Chungdae Post, we hope that this edition provides you with valuable insights and encourages you to embrace change and innovation in your own life. As we wrap up 2023, we thank you for being part of this journey with us, and we look forward to what the next year will bring. Thank you for your continued support, and, as always, we will strive to bring you informative and thought-provoking content that reflects the changing times.
