As the end of the COVID-19 pandemic draws nearer, a refreshing breeze of vitality is blowing through Chungnam National University. Non-face-to-face classes are now face-to-face, campus events such as the cherry blossom festival have resumed, and students can now enjoy picnics on the grass without wearing masks. Compared to the dull, lifeless atmosphere of last year, this year’s campus is filled with a sense of youthful enthusiasm and freshness.

In this 272nd edition of The Chungdae Post, we focus on the themes of change and innovation. Our articles cover some of the significant changes on campus, including the recently renovated library that underwent environmental improvements, and the proposed merger between Chungnam National University and Hanbat National University. We also delve into the evolution of technology and changing society, looking at cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies such as ChatGPT and the modern drinking trends observed among the younger generation.

Heraclitus, the Greek philosopher, famously said, “The only constant in life is change.” This quote has never been truer than in the present day, where the pandemic has undoubtedly accelerated the pace of change in all areas of our lives. Having witnessed substantial changes in the way we work, socialize, and consume media, we already understand the problems of being swept by the flow of change. Therefore, it is time for us to adapt to new situations and come up with creative and innovative ideas.

At The Chungdae Post, we hope that this edition provides you with valuable insights and encourages you to embrace change and innovation in your own lives. Thank you for your continued support, and, as always, we will strive to bring you informative and thought-provoking content that reflects the changing times.
