The Daejeon Creative Center, under the Daejeon Museum of Art, is holding an exhibition of the works of new artists selected for the DMA Camp, 2023. The exhibition is called Even if You Don't See It: Unseen. Eight artists participating in the exhibition collected fragments of invisible reality extracted from reality and recreated them in artwork. They pay attention to the various relationships and inner movements that are present throughout their lives. The movements are easy to miss because they are so small, while the background that naturally spreads out creates new emotions and

possibilities. Dreams, little things, animals, life and death, memories, love, youth, etc., are examples. When artists express works related to the spectrum of invisible life, visitors can think about them in connection with their personal experiences. This is an exhibition held in the hope that through the various experimental works of the artists, visitors can recall the things that they have forgotten about in their daily lives.

Artists Kim Jinhee and Choi Jiwon depict clear images of emptiness, desire, and tension through momentary emotions and expressionless beings. I thought a very intense image was projected by the work depicting a person as a mannequin.

Artists Guna and Han Sangah are completely different in form, but they create similar atmospheres. They make us think twice about life and death, a theme that penetrates life through implicit yet sharp images. What do weightlessness and fragility mean to artists? It was a painful topic for me to reflect on as a visitor.

Artist Park Hyungji said, "Conversation is a battle between continuity and renewal." The feeling of the moment you get from life is expressed through thick painted lines. This allows visitors to interpret their emotions in various ways.

Artist Choi Yoonhee abstractly expresses the invisible flow of time. This artist has tried to capture her memories or what remained in her mind after time passed by. The blue color in the upper right corner made me think deeply.

Artist Lee Seunghee's main theme is animals. As someone who has raised pets for more than 10 years, I found many paintings impressive. The artist says that the main medium for exploring the relationship between humans and non-human beings is animals. The works expressed in unrealistic ways show that humans and animals can interact in new ways.

The Unseen exhibition literally shows works created by artists in agony using soft colors for things that cannot be seen on the outside. I also looked at the works, and similar (or perhaps very different) to what the artists thought, I came to think twice about hidden emotions. I hope that, by viewing this exhibition, many visitors will reflect on the feelings and memories that they have been trying to hide.
