Clean Air Cleans My Mind

Who is she?

She works at Daejeon City Hall to make the air of the city clean. She is an action officer of the Climate Management Division in the Environment Green Bureau. Her job involves dealing with tasks related to climate change, specifically greenhouse gas reduction to prevent global warming. She wants to tell CNU students about her story.

Q1. How did you find out about the job and why did you choose it?
A1. Civil servants are pursuing public interests.  I thought it was meaningful and rewarding that I could do something for the local community, and just at the right time I was given a chance to choose the job and I took it.
Q1. When do you feel rewarded while working?
A1. When the initiatives are reflected in my proposals, I feel just as rewarded as the citizens who benefit from them. Also, if greenhouse gas reduction is not immediate, it feels rewarding knowing that my work  can help  the future.
Q. What is the hardest part of working?

A. Because what I do is requiring people to share their opinions, conflicts occur frequently. The process of discussing the issue is really important and necessary, but sometimes it hurts because usually opinions are compromised, or sometimes they do not work out. In this case, I feel that my work can be difficult.
Q. Could you give some advice for CNU Students?
A. Although jobs may be difficult to find, have faith that opportunities are given to those who are  ready. My motto is ‘Even if the earth falls tomorrow, I will plant one apple tree’. So, believe in yourself and try hard.
