  Traveling Everywhere By Bus

Do you have a traveling plan for the holidays? Where is your destination? Is it Seoul, Haeundae, Busan, or another country? When we plan to travel, we rarely decide to visit the place we live in. Naturally, on making plans for a trip, many places surrounding us are excluded in the traveling lists. This is because we don't know how the beautiful place we live in is. For those who don't recognize the beauty of the place we live in as a traveling site, CP reporter has one recommendation: the Daejeon City Tour!

    1. The Daejeon City Tour

The Daejeon City Tour has five courses: a science tour, a history culture tour, an eco tour, a Daecheong lake tour, and a healing tour. Each tour consists of different and core places in Daejeon. Every day, two tours are available depending on the tour time; the morning tour and the afternoon tour. The morning tours start at 9:40 a.m. and finishes at 1 p.m. while the afternoon tours begin at 2 p.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. Through the tour, the visitors can move through the various tourist attractions by the Daejeon City Tour bus. Therefore, visitors don't have to pay money for their own transportation. Only by paying 4,000 won, those who use the Daejeon City Tour can enjoy traveling around Daejeon without worrying about transportation expenses. Moreover, tourists are accompanied by a professional cultural heritage commentator. The commentator will tell tourists about Daejoen’s traditional fairy tales and the historical backgrounds of places.

    2. The Forest Walk in Gyejok Mountain

CP reporters chose the eco tour. The Eco tour’s itinerary started at Daejeon Station at 9:40 a.m. When the tourists boarded the bus, it headed for Gyejoksan Mountain. At Gyejoksan Mountain, the tourists can walk along a red clay road. Walking the red clay road, people can relax their stressful mind by taking in the view of Gyejoksan Mountain. The special viewing point of Geyjoksan Mountain is to walk the red clay road with naked feet. Directly touching the red clay enables people to feel the positive impact of the red clay on their bodies.

The red clay is well-known with its healing effect: it neutralizes toxicity. Its neutralization function helps people, who suffer from side effects such as muscle pains, arthritis, or weakened immune systems, to care for their pains. Moreover, the red clay purifies the harmful substances in the human’s body. Its purification makes people improve their skin condition and keep it clean. It works especially well for patients who suffer from an atopy. Walking on the clay road with barefeet can reduce not only the level of physical stress and but also the toxicity in the tourists’ bodyies.

   3. Hanbat Arboretum and Natural Heritage Center.

After walking around Gyejoksan Mountain, CP reporters left for the Hanbat Arboretum and the Natural Heritage Center. At first, we visited the Hanbat Arboretum which has various kinds of tropical plants. Some plants among them have fancy flowers. The splendid flowers look so attractive that people can feel the strong desire to touch them. However, we should be careful when trying to touch the flowers. The reason is that some flowers have toxicity in them. Therefore, touching flowers could be harmful for us. Don’t be deceived by the beautiful appearances.

Next to Hanbat Arboretum is the Natural Heritage Center. It exhibits a dinosaur egg and footprint fossil, stuffed animals such as an otter, an Asiatic Black Bear, and so on) as well as diverse botanical specimens. These exhibitions encourage visitors to learn the value of nature's heritage. Moreover, natural heritage center gives visitors creative opportunities to feel nature's vitality by listening to birds’ singing and touching the natural heritage.

<The commentator is talking about the traditional tales from Daejeon>

  - The Yogang Stone in Jang-dong of Daejeon has one traditional tale related to Park Mun Su who was a secret royal inspector in the Joseon dynasty. He failed to pass the exam to be a civil servant. As he saw the Yogang Stone, he thought about why he had failed every time in the exam. To his surprise, after seeing his reflection in the Yogang Stone, he could pass the exam. Because of this tale, there is a superstition that, if people see the Yogang stone, they will pass their exams.
