Greetings, students and professors. I am the editor-in-chief of The Chungdae Post, Lee Jaeyoon. The autumn leaves are starting to fall, and the weather is getting colder and colder, which means that we should be ready for the end of 2021. How was your 2021? I hope you have had an amazing memorable year. The year 2021 was really meaningful to me: I was discharged from military service and I became the editor-in-chief of The Chungdae Post. Thus, this year was continuously full of remarkable and unforgettable moments. Some of you might have had a hard time, whereas some of you may have had the best year of your life. Yet, next year, we might chat about the year 2021 being such a memorable and delightful year and wish we could return to this moment. Although COVID-19 makes life depressing and difficult, your friends and family are still by your side, and a mysterious and bright future is awaiting you.

In this edition, The Chungdae Post focuses on some of 2021’s hottest topics. To begin, the “In Society” section considers some issues regarding the crisis in Afghanistan following the Taliban takeover and discusses the progress of COVID-19 vaccinations. In addition, we present some opinions on Zoom classes. In the “Culture” section, we explain some concerns relating to a Chinese movie based on the Korean War from a Chinese perspective and examine Islamic cultures that discriminate against women. We also describe an exhibition in Daejeon called Wednesday is Indigo Blue. Finally, in the “Campus” section, we introduce some of our foreign peers at CNU.

It has been an honor to write articles for CNU peers and professors as editor-in-chief of The Chungdae Post. I hope all of you are having a cheerful semester and achieving what you want. A famous American author called Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” As he said, when you get up in the morning, think about the day that you are going to have: a wonderful morning, an exciting afternoon, and a splendid evening.
