Kids Need to Learn to Behave Properly in Public Places

‘Even though you are only three years old, you cannot behave like that!’ This quote from a book was impressive. The man who said this quote seemed to be a satirist; however, he strongly valued the importance of etiquette in a public place. This is why I want to talk about a no kids zone in a public place. Inappropriate behaviors by children are apt to be accepted by people with smiles. Even though kids sometimes commit crimes, they are not punished like adults. Nowadays, in cities, no kids zones are spreading fast and people have different views about that. I am one person who cannot accept any rude behavior from kids. We need no kids zones in order to avoid the unsuitable
manners of children and teach them how to act politely in public places. As individuals have a right to enjoy their moments, I think no kids zones are needed in public places.
No kids zones were first enforced in high-class restaurants and cafes. Generally, people visit those places when they desire to spend time with their close friends or enjoy the atmosphere. However, kids usually disturb people by running around and shouting because they are extremely cheerful and do not know how to express their happiness. Thus, it is necessary to stop them for the sake of the other customers. Some people who disagree with the no kids zone might say that it is an excessive option for kids; however, we live in a liberal society and we need a more appropriate etiquette in public places. In addition, everybody should respect others’ privacy as freedom is guaranteed in this society. Children should not be the exception because they are young.

No Kids Zone is a Good Option for Owners to Avoid Uncontrolled Kids

Last year, I visited a local restaurant with my friend. I thought that the restaurant could be quiet or nice because it was only 11 a.m. However, the peaceful atmosphere was suddenly disrupted when a group of people, most of them were little children, came in. At first, I could endure them because they were just kids; so, it was natural for them to go on a rampage and be curious about everything inside the restaurant. The problem was that one kid accidentally ran into my friend and fell on his back in front of us. My friend could not help showing irritation toward them.
I think my friend had a right to be upset and scold the kids in that situation. No one wants their time to be spoiled by children without etiquette. This is one simple reason why it is a reasonable idea to enforce No Kids Zones (NKZs). If the parents of teachers had stopped the children from running around, unpleasant things would not have happened. Unfortunately, parents and teachers usually cannot control young children completely. Why do owners of restaurants, coffee shops or other types of mom-and-pop businesses want NKZs? Let us put ourselves into the owners’ shoes. Most owners, if not all, would want to accommodate all types of customers regardless of age. Sometimes, conflicts break out among customers because of uncontrolled behavior of kids. More often than not, the parents blindly insist that their kids have not done anything wrong even though other customers are suffering. Then, those customers do not want to visit the restaurants where children are present. As a result, owners do not want to lose their customers, it is not a surprise to see that NKZs are spreading around cities at this time.
In this context, it is hardly possible to criticize business owners for enforcing the NKZs. And there is a situation that the owners have the risk of paying damages in case of accidents resulting from uncontrollable children. Both legally and morally, no kids in some businesses is a good decision and should be upheld as long as they want. The NKZ is the best option for owners to keep their business.
