Pulp Fiction

Today, I want to introduce one of my favorite movies, “Pulp Fiction”. This movie is a black comedy. It deals with heavy stuff such as disposal of dead body, a pervert, a drug dealer, robbery, drug overdose, and the scene is also bloody. But somehow, the movie itself is not so heavy. So you can find laughs throughout the movie.
“Pulp Fiction” consists of several episodes which are all connected. It starts with two couples talking about robbing a restaurant, and when they start their move, the scene suddenly changes into the credits. Out of nowhere, after the credits, they show us Vincent(John Travolta) and Jules(Samuel L. Jackson) having a small-talk while they are on their way to fix boss’ problem. As you can see, the storyline is nonlinear, so it can be puzzling at first glance. However, I think that is what makes “Pulp Fiction” so interesting.
The movie’s unconventional structure and extensive use of homage have led critics to describe it as a prime example of postmodern film. For that reason, there is nothing that we could call climax. But still, it is so fascinating that it catches our eyes. I think Quentin Tarantino opened new genres with this movie. So, I highly recommend this movie to you.
