National Scholarship from Tax Should Be Allocated by A Grade Standard

Expensive university educational costs have been burdensome for the family economy because of the economical recession. Government has granted many undergraduates who needed financial aid a special scholarship called the National Scholarship. Some students have recently demanded that the grade restriction should be lifted. However, I agree with that the requirement is needed for the following reasons.
First, the grade restriction can be one of the enticements to study hard. A scholarship is granted to outstanding students despite financial problems. In other words, through supporting them financially, students can concentrate on their study. Therefore, if the restriction is lifted, they will neglect their study.
Second, undergraduates who do not have enough scholastic ability have increased. Without the
grade requirement, most students can get a National Scholarship. If there is widespread thought that not entering the university is one’s loss, although one is not interested in study, one will enter the university unconditionally. It may leave more of the well-educated unemployed.
Finally, among students in poor economic condition, there are very few who failed because of lack of studying time. Actually, poor students were eliminated account by about 13%. Moreover, over half of the undergraduates get part-time jobs. Therefore, if students attend classes faithfully and study hard intensively at least during the test period, it is not difficult to get B0 that is the minimum qualification for the scholarship.
In conclusion, the government cannot choose all the students because the budget comes from our taxes and it is limited.
What’s the solution? Grades can be one of the best standards. What do you say to put more time on your studies?

Should Be Kept to The Grade Standards of The National Scholarship?

I think the system has to be maintained. This is because it is associated with the purpose of the establishment of the Korea Foundation Scholarship. Regardless of economic conditions, anyone
who has the will and the ability should get a chance to study. Anyone can also contribute to the development of the nation in the conditions established by the national human resource development. I especially emphasize the core, if a student has the will to study, B0 is not a high grade to get. According to the recent announcement, the grading scale B0 will be lowered to C0. If students have the enthusiasm and commitment to learn, and participate in the class, it is easy to get that grade. If the system is abolished, the student who puts in the minimum effort will receive national scholarships.
Let’s suppose that in the previous semester a student did not meet the grade criteria. He is surely disappointed with the fact. How should he react in that situation? Does he fight to change the level of grade from a C0 to B0? Is the grade criteria too high? No. he should change his attitude and the way of his school life. The student who didn’t get a B0 focused on something other than academic study. The national scholarship system is for the student who lives in a difficult environment but wants to focus on studying.
There are students who have to earn their living for themselves. They complain about the grade criteria. The student who works for making a living needs to study hard to meet that grade. The policy that moves the standards from B0 to C0 courages the student not to focus on their studies. The correct answer is that a student should study harder for the next semester in order to meet the grade B0. B0 is a good grade to get a national scholarship.
The grade limitation, which motivate the students to study, is the most essential part for the existence of the university.
Even though students are in a bad situation to study, they should try their best to get at least a term B0 for the national scholarship. The grade limitation makes the student to study more eagerly, and that certainly will help them. Striving for better grades is essentially the cornerstone of self-development. If students receive the national scholarship with good grades, they will feel a sense of accomplishment. Thus, they will try more in the future.
