<Chung-yeon> is the student solidarity of cleaning workers in Chungnam National University (CNU). This union was named after 'Chung-so-no-dong-ja Yeon-dae(Chung-yeon).' <Chung-Yeon> was established in September, 2011 by CNU's students. Its members support cleaning workers' labor group of CNU, and fight to protect their rights. <Chung-yeaon> started activities from a small scale of five students, but more students were joined when they hosted a signature collecting movement or strike. From June 19, 2012, when the strike of facilities management workers started, <Chung-yeon> also spoke up for the protection of non-regular workers' rights. its members get information from laborers directly, and whenever sit-ins are planned, they participate. They always try to communicate with cleaning workers and facility management workers. <Chung-yeon> consists of passionate students who are intent on expressing their opinions and trying to change the atmosphere of the existing labor system. "We are looking for anybody who is willing to fight against absurdity. All of us have the right to extend and express our views. Youths, be brave! Let's change our university workers' working condition together!" Jung Gi-in(06, Department of SociaI Welfare), the representative student of <Chung-yeon> said. "If you welcome many cleaning workers or cheer for them, you are already working with us. Whenever you join us, we'll welcome you enthusiastically! We are a voluntary union," Ye So-young (07, Department of Philosophy> and Sociology), a member of <Chung-yeon> said.
