SOURCE CODE

Looking for some sci-fi flavor in your life? Well, the movie Source Code might satisfy your appetite. It was released on May 4th, so go on and head out to the theatre!
The mission is named the "Source Code", hence the title of the movie. A soldier named Colter (starring Jake Gyllenhaal), wakes up in a body of an unknown man, programmed by a computer called GERTY, and Colter's mission is to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. This terrorist will instantly bomb the train Colter is in on eight minutes and threatening to kill millions of people in downtown Chicago. Colter re-lives the event over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he finally catches the man behind the action. Colter spends several of the allotted minutes on the train in some victim's body. He is with his friend, Christina (starring Michelle Monaghan), whom he begins to fall in love with. Now, Colter is a soldier with a mission to serve. However, he is not there, Physically. He is basically "wearing" someone else's body, but the brain, is Colter's. He is a man with a chance to save lives by discovering the terrorist behind the bombing before he gets killed again (or rather, the body he is in). However, he gets stuck every time, no matter how hard he tries to solve the mystery.
Source Code is a rather confusing sci-fi, and the more confusing it gets, the better. At first, it would seem like the body on the but, later, we being to learn that the body that in is just a frame, an object that could hold Colter in. Colter was reluctant at the beginning, because he himself didn't even know he was undergoing this mission. He just simple woke up in a stranger's body, and was terribly confused, until someone him what to do through a wire that was put in his body while he was unconscious. Realizing that he is being used for this tremendous mission, Cotter is trying all he can to stop the bombing from happening and to catch the terrorist. But he Is only given eight minutes before he gets killed again. So, the "fun" in this movie is seeing whether Colter will get killed before the time allotted or not. However, Colter starts to stray from his mission and find some other ways to alter his fate, and the rules given by the GERTY starts to break down. This is where the "real" trouble starts.
Giving away the end of the movie would be wrong, because there is so much to be recognized and thought about. After seeing this movie, I was enchanted, similar to the feeling I had after watching "Eternal Sunshine of the spotless Mind". You would have to watch this movie a few times to catch the exact synopsis, but it's better to make your own prognosis of the movie. I felt this movie would've been so much better if it wasn't for Colter falling in love with Christina. We can never watch movies that do not involve love affairs, but that's just my humble opinion. Colter seems very isolated, confused and with such a burden on his back (a mission to save people), but there is no character development. Colter stays the wat he is throughout the movie, and so do the other characters. Only the scenes moves fast, as if they are rushing waves, motion after motion.
I began to question- how does Colter remain in the alternate reality? Staying the way he is in the body of a man? What is the method of communication between his mission and the reality? The answers, I have not found yet, but this thrilling and twisting storyline might keep you awake and make you think. Each time the bomb goes off, you will being to think and question. All the while, make every second count, because this movie is fast and furious.
