In November, there was an election to vote for the 42nd president and vice-president of General Students’ Association (GSA). Hi-Right and Hi-Five came forword as candidates. The campaign period was about two weeks. The election was supervised by an election committee. On November 3rd, a policy forum was held at Han-Nu-Ri Hall. The press and general students took part in it. Candidates were questioned about election promise. A ballot was taken on 10th November. Polls were closed about 6 PM and the official counting of the votes began at 9 PM in the Student Hall Ⅱ. It finished about 4 AM but faced some trouble. The processes of voting were as follows: First, the voter wites signature beside his of her name on the check list. Second, the election committee underlines his or her name with red pen. Third, then the voter can vote. However one of the names was without voters signature but underlined in red and the other one underlines in red under the signature. For these reasons, the election committee discussed over three hours and finished the official counting of the votes after 7 AM. Then, Hi-Right expressed their disapproval about the trouble. They asked the committee to inquire into the actual state of the matter and went out on there. That day, ‘Jang’ and ‘Choi’ were elected as the president and the vice-president of GSA. Hi-Five and Hi-Right received 56.6% and 43.4% of the votes, respectively. The gap of voting papers was 1,110. Then, Let’s look at Hi-Five’s some of main election promises in the below.

<About incorporation of the CNU>
    Hi-Five object to it. They said that first of all they would investigate the student’s impression of it and public recognition, survey the position of the students. Also they said that GSA would keep a strict watch over the administration. They said that the nation should revise the law to strengthen national university competitiveness. They opposed incorporation of CNU because of the raise in tuition, the collapse of pure education, the performance-driven and the obsession with quantitative result.

<Unused amount of the budget>
    They said that they need a correct analysis about compliation of a budget and need to share the disclosure use. And they said that they will prepare a monitoring organization called academic council and consider cooperation with Kyungpook National University to solve the trouble of unused amounts of money.

<An external enterprise in an educational institution>
    They said that they will proclaim in advance about plans for external enterprise through a hearing that lets students participate and through surveys so that they can object to an external enterprise.

<A meal ticket system in the dormitory>
    They referred to the contracts based on meal ticket systems: the self-regulating meal ticket system and the restrictive meal ticket system. In the case of the self-regulating meal ticket system, students can select various items from the menu and eat good quality food. That’s what they really want. The restrictive meal ticket system was introduces to reduce the loss from buying meal ticket sheets and making additional purchase possible. They said that through this system the restaurant operation will be transparent and able to have a quantitative and qualitative improvement of the menu.
