"We have been focusing on fund raising for the CNU Foundation since 2009," said Song Yong-ho, President of CNU. "I prepared this event to show appreciation for the support and to take our school members in a new direction."
    The CNU Foundation held an "Evening of Gratitude and Support" on November 30th this year. It was held at the Daejeon Convention Center and started at 6:30 PM.
    On the day of the event, Lee Jae-hoo, an announcer for KBS, took the microphone. Around 300 local influential figures, including school members and alumni presented. They showed interest in our school’s development.
    Song announced the importance of fund raising, introducing the report entitled "the Present and Future of CNU." Lee In-goo, an advisor for the CNU Foundation, Han Yang-soo and Han Geum-tae, and the co-chairman, gave short speeches which emphasized the necessity of raising funds.
    After that, they had dinner and enjoyed performances such as sumie arts against North Korea, sand animation, popera concert and a concert by the CNU professors’ chorus. And 30 students representatives including Park Young-hwan, president of the students association gave roses to school members and alumni to express gratitude to them.
    They showed video sending meaningful messages to Im Chae-hoon, the bereaved of Jeongsimhwa Lee bok-soon, to Ham Jeong-ok who promised to endow a scholarship to one person every semester until she dies and Lee Jong-hak, a professor of the Graduate School of Peace and Security Studies, who donated 1.3 billion won of cash and property. They expressed the true meaning of funding and development of our school. The people at the event signed an agreement that they would promise to fund the CNU Foundation.
    "In order to break in to the top 5 national universities and the top 100 international universities we should secure a lot of funding and to establish a basis for better long-term development," said Song "I ask that local people, school members and alumni cooperate so that our school will represent Korea."
