SEOUL BROADCASTING SYSTEM(SBS) had monopolized broadcast right of Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP SOUTH AFRICA. These situations have generated some controversies. Some people claim that it violates viewer's right of viewing and raises a controversy about publicness of broadcasting. Other people think that it is a justifiable activity for pursuit of profits as corporation. About this argument, let's listen to Chungdaites' opinions.

I oppose to SBS's exclusive coverage of a big sports game. And, people who live in an area with bad reception can't watch World Cup broadcasted only by SBS. Also I think broadcasters should not pursue profit.

I disagree with SBS's exclusive coverage. viewers do not have chance to choose other regularly aired programs such as comedies, dramas or show programs. And SBS broadcasts only their sports programs, viewers can't watch other SBS's programs.

I object to SBS's exclusive coverage. I think SBS's exclusive coverage is unfair. SBS may pursue their profit, ignoring viewers' right. I think viewers should have a right of select among various commentators.

It seems wrong to monopoly a big, world-wide event, because it infringes people's right of watching programs. At least, more than two broadcasting stations should put the big game on the air.

A viewer wants to enjoy various sportscasters' commentaries.

I disagree with monopoly. above all, it is unfair to benefit from the FIFA World Cup, which is an international festival.

Broadcasting monopoly does not violate the viewers' right of choice. People who do not like soccer games can watch other regularly scheduled programs. Broadcasting these sports games on the cable is the other way to reserve viewers' right, giving viewers chance to select from various commentaries on the game.

Formally, I could not but watching the same big sports games on the three major channels, KBS, MBC, SBS. Now, I can enjoy various programs. It's fine to monopolize broadcastings.

It will be better to broadcast an international event like Olympic and World Cup with other TV stations. I'm not satisfied with the quality of sound and screen of World Cup by SBS. Also, diversity of channel decreases.
