It will tugged at the heartstrings of you, Harmony

When you watch this movie, you can feel how deep mother's love for her son is, even though she is a criminal. A mother, Jung-hye, is a death-row convict, who brings her baby, Min-ho, to Cheongju Women's prison. She can live with her baby for just 18 months. After thar, the baby should he adopted in accordance with the law.
One day, she watches a choir concert and then suggests making a choir that consists of prisoners. The idea catches on, because the kind-hearted chief of the prison agrees to make a program to reform convicts. Also, she promises Jeong-hye a special outing with Min-ho if she succeeds. Jeong-hye and other prisoners made a great effort the choir.
Another theme of this movie is the need of abolishing capital punishment. In this movie, all prisoners had their own stories why they committed such huge crimes. it is wrong to impose the responsibility of the crime entirely on convicts. After they sang in the choir, they changes a lor. They became considerate to others and love each other. It is the most important reason why the death penalty should be abolished.
In the several past years, there had been a lot of controversy about the death penalty in Korea. However, the Constitutional Court declared that the death penalty does not violate the constitution. Still, lots of movements to abolish death penalty are on-going in religious circles and NGOs. Though, the population of those who assert the death penalty should remain is higher than of those who disagree. If you watch Harmony, you can feel the importance of human's rights and the why capital punishment should be eliminated.
