You might have heard someone dinging from 6:00 ~ 9:00 p.m. You also might have seen the All Clubs Association of the year, 'Dong Go Dong Rock.' It encourages clubs to have performances on Goong-dong. I had the chance to talk to Kwak Hyeong-oh, one of the members of 'Dong Go Dong Rock.'

CP : Tell me about what id going on in Goong-dong.

Kwak : In the past, there were no concerts in Goong-dong performed by university students. I want to make Goong-dong a cultural place just like Hong-dae's cultural center. It has not started yet, but we will open a guerrilla concert every Friday at Yot-gol park, where most students pass by. We use the park as a stage at night and convert it back during the day.

CP : What is the purpose of the project?

Kwak : Daejeon is kind of a cultural wasteland. I want to make people entertained. I planned this project both for performers and audiences. We promote not only concerts, but also exhibitions such as paintings and calligraphy.

CP : Who can attend the performances?

Kwak : Any CNU student. Anyone can perform regardless of genre or whether they are in team or single. You can submit an application from Monday to Thursday.

CP : How do you support students?

Kwak : We set up a stage and the microphone, lighting and other facilities. We don't give money or any other reward to them. The reason is we want them to perform for fun, not for money.

CP : What do you expect to see from the project in the future?

Kwak : WE don't expect much yet. This is testing period. In the second semester we plan to start playing concerts in earnest. We will attract many clubs and people. I'm planning jam concerts too. More than two teams can cooperate and perform together.
