The CNU Dormitory got credit for technological and regional development by Daejeon city on December 31st. During the International Robot Olympiad of 2009, the dormitory provided accommodation for students.
    Officials of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) were impressed with the quality of the dormitory, so they decided to expand the scale of the children's conference and arranged to host the youth conference next year. Also, there was the biggest ever youth gathering on climate change in Daejeon. Nearly 1,000 children and young people from 100 countries participated in the Tunza International Children and Youth Conference.
    For these reasons, the dormitory was recognized as high quality accommodation for international activities in Daejeon.
