Fairy Tales Adults The Book of Lost Things

I am sure that many of you are familiar with sentence that starts "Once upon a time..." It is common sentence that most people heard when they went to bed in their childhood. My parents always used to read a fairy tale or a folk story to me every day before I went to sleep. The novel, The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly, is a flashback of the old memories of fairy tales that every child loves.
In the novel, Davie, who lives with his father, step-mother and his step-brother, Georgie, had hard time with his mother's death as well as with his new family. However, he somehow entered a fantasy world, where his journey begins. The novel is based on fairy tales that were very famous, such as Rumpelstiltskin, Little Red Riding Hood, and Snow White. Although the story has connections with many different fairy tales, the author makes changes to every story so that adults want to read and get excited about them.
This book is very fresh and attactive to readers. There are numerous fantasy and journey stories in the world, but the trip of David was very exciting and it presented valuable lessons. You are welcome to join and imagine the new fantasy world that John Connolly creates. You will not take your hands off the book until the end of the story.
