Q1. Please introduce yourself:
Hello, my name is Young Gwang An and I am a director of movies, documentaries, and commercials.
Q2. Please introduce your job and what you do:
Literally, as a director, I’m in charge of directing various productions, designing, and creating the overall flow and detailed elements in the creation of a video.
Q3. What are your shooting know-how and shooting philosophy?
I think we are living in an era of communication through media, with video media increasingly being used, and I think it has a lot of influence on us. Therefore, a director can
influence so many people depending on what kind of video is shot. As a director, I should be able to give people hope and messages beyond fun and emotions through my productions. That's my philosophy when I make videos.

Q4. If you have any memorable experiences or episodes while working, please share them:
When I was shooting a video with my crew on a quiet road where cars rarely go in Gangwondo, suddenly a car accident occurred. A car hit some of our staff even though we had checked there was no oncoming traffic before filming.

Fortunately, there were no major injuries, but it remains a heartbreaking memory.

Q5. What is the final goal that you would like to achieve in the future through video production?
My dream is to become a world-class film director. As an influential director, I want to have a good influence on masses of people and deliver a message of hope. For example, there
are still many places in Africa with poor educational facilities. I want to go to such places and work on projects to build schools. I would like to give the world a hopeful message by
showing the process in a documentary or movie, and I want to show that if we give people the opportunity for an education, they can achieve much more. I think this is what I can do to improve the world as a director.

Q6. What do you want to say to students who have a similar dream to you?
It is not easy. You need to be confident in your beliefs and to go forward with that in mind. Trust yourself to the end and keep moving forward. Of course, you can't ignore other people's advice, but just listening to other people's words can lead to a life of wandering around without finding your true self. Believe in yourself. And I hope you move forward step by step.
Q7. Was it your dream to be a director since childhood? Please explain any efforts you made to realize your dream as a student:

When I was young, I thought about becoming a movie director, but it was simply a child's desire to be anything. I didn't think so much, but around my third year of college, I became interested in video production. I didn’t even know about video or movie production at all because my major was English language and literature which was unrelated. However, I became interested in it, so I learned about it by myself. I never received any instruction or education about video making, and I started to study on my own by simply filming and making videos. In the field of video production, learning through experience is much more important than theoretical knowledge. I didn't know anything, but I think that what I learned while making videos blindly has been of great help today.

Q8. I heard that you graduated from Chungnam National University. Do you have any memorable experiences from your time at Chungnam University? (Ex.I recommend doing these things while at Chungnam University!) Did you participate in any activities?
When I became a senior in college, I participated in club activities in earnest. Normally, during their senior year, students would reduce their participation in club activities because of job preparation, but I think I worked hardest during that time. I joined a cultural exchange club for foreigners at Chungnam National University called AFKN, but there were so few people the club was almost disbanded. So as soon as I joined that club, I became the club secretary and chairman. At that time, we did our utmost to attract foreigners to our club, and the number of foreigners we gathered was close to 120. We were able to make it a successful, active club. At that time, I was able to learn many things by interacting with many students from various countries, and the memory of that time remains. In fact, I think most university programs and activities are associated with employment. Of course, participating in club activities is also an important part of life and sometimes there are some good programs. As mature, independent adults, college students have a lot of opportunities and possibilities to experience a lot. Unfortunately, there are not many students who actively take advantage of these opportunities and possibilities.
Find and experience different things on your own. It doesn't matter if they are related to your major or your career path. Experience various things and do what you want to do. The
more you do, the wider your outlook on the world will be, and the more possibilities and opportunities will present themselves in your life. Don't just ignore the possibility given to you now.

Q9. Please tell us what you would like to say as a past student of Chungnam National University to our current students:
It's something that I've already said, but I hope you don't be afraid and trust yourself. If you believe in what you want to do and in what you dream of, there will be good results. Efforts don’t betray.
Q10. Finally, what question do you want to be asked, and what is the answer?
‘Are you happy?’ If you ask me, I think I can answer that I am happy. Not only has the process so far not been easy, but I have also shed a lot of tears. However, I am so happy now. It's not all about making a lot of money and being recognized by people. It’s that I can just do what I want to do on my own, and I feel a great sense of accomplishment and happiness through the process of solving problems and developing on my own. After all, aren't we living to find happiness? I hope you also live a life full of happiness.
Thank you
