Human Rights Center, A STRONG Psychological Test Room has Opened! CNU Human Rights Center

There are a lot of welfare facilities in CNU, but it seems that there are many students who don’t know about the Human Rights Center. Have you ever visited the Human Rights Center at CNU? What does the Human Rights Center do? Do you need psychological testing? Recently, the psychological test room at the Human Rights Center has opened. Let’s look at the Human Rights Center!

 ◎ CNU Human Rights Center

The CNU Human Rights Center was founded to make students take care of and respect each other here at CNU. It started from the Student Guidance Institute in 1968 and became the Human Rights Center in 2013. It has updated psychological tests for mental health, counseling programs, and activities that handle human rights problems. It counsels about sexual matters as well as sexual violence and sexual harassment on campus. All personal information and the records of counseling are kept confidential. When you need somebody to listen to your story, or when you want to improve yourself, you can come here.

◎ Programs at the Human Rights Center

At the CNU Human Rights Center, you can attend psychology counseling, take psychological tests, and get human rights counseling. There are two kinds of psychology counseling, personal counseling, and group counseling. Personal counseling is a process where you understand who you are and solves psychological difficulties you experience by counseling with a counselor one by one. You can get the ability to solve problems concerning personality, studies, adaptation, personal relations, and family matters. The problems are solved by counseling. Also it will be a good opportunity to understand yourself, to find more of your potential capacities, and to promote personal growth. The subjects of personal counseling can be personality problems, personal relations, family relations, depression/anxiety, and guidance in your studies. Group counseling is conducted by grouping members who are interested in the same subject and talking to each other. They help mutual growth through understanding themselves and each other. Group members give feedback to each other in groups by experiencing acceptance, encouragement, and support, so they can get spiritual nourishment which helps them develop themselves. Unlike personal counseling, group counseling is conducted by many students who have various personalities and problems. So students can experience personal relations and they can experience that they are getting better based on that experience. Consensus between group members is formed and members can be advisers to each other. Through this, they can learn effective problem solution methods.

 ◎ STRONG Psychological Test

The STRONG Psychological Test is a professional counseling test that was devised by the Human Rights Center and the ACE agency. Although it is a kind of psychological tests, it is possible to understand your personality, emotions, interests, and aptitudes more objectively. Also it is possible to find your true character and help with your career choices. Off-line and on-line tests are possible. There are MMPI, MBTI, SCT, K-WAIS, and STRONG career interest tests offered as off-line tests. MMPI is a test which evaluates abnormal signs of character. It contributes to counseling and mental treatment. Also, it helps to find the possibilities of unsoundness in advance and aims to provide a prevention plan. SCT is a test which measures personal values, motivation, conflict, and emotional attitude by using uncompleted sentence. K-WAIS is a mental function measurement test to measure personal potential ability using many tasks. The STRONG career interest test is used to provide suitable careers to each person according to students’ own vocational interests. So it helps to find careers based on interest and favor regardless of ability that each is good at. MBTI and the STRONG career interest test are also possible to take online.
