A Look Back At the 2015 CNU Festival

Did you enjoy the CNU Festival which took place from September 16th through the 18th? CP reporter hopes you enjoyed the festival with great pleasure. Now, let’s look back at the 2015 CNU Festival and talk about it. Stay tuned!

  1. How was it organized?

CP reporter classified the festival into three parts, such as street performance, theme booths, and night performance. First, there was the promotion zone, food zone, health zone, and beauty zone in the theme booth. The business booth offered various content. For example, the students operated this booth by themselves, and several community and business organizations participated in this zone. Second, busking was performed along the Yeongtapji area and the stone pagoda of Chungdae. Students enjoyed the music by sitting on the bench or the stone. Finally, the highlight of this festival was the night event held at the southern sports field. There were bars run by students, and guest singers and rappers, like Loco, Simon D, Baek A-yeon, and so on, were invited to this festival.

  2. What were the best things the festival offered?

The festival was not only for CNU students, but also for local residents. You could experience various events. For example, there was the event called ‘Challenge! Golden Bell’ which was sponsored by a/the Credit Union. The awarded students of this event were given the privilege of exempting the document examination to get a job at the Credit Union. Also, there was street performing that was characteristic. Anyone could enjoy the music around the Yeongtapji area and stone pagoda of CNU.

  3. What were its problems?

We all know the hosts of the event made an effort to run a successful festival, but there are always complaints from students. CP reporter collected student’s opinions through the Facebook group of Chungnam University and students’ community site. CP reporter selected 4 points to be improved. The first point is that price of the bar was too expensive to pay. For example, the price of Makgeolli was 4,000 won. Second, the guest singers were exclusively hip-hop. It was really good for students who enjoy rap music, but it would be uninteresting to the others who don’t. Finally, some important information was not announced to students or participants sufficiently. For example, many students didn’t know when the operations of night bus heading for the dormitory stopped. CP reporter hopes the organizers will solve these problems for the next festival.
