Free Access to Foreign Journals From Original Text to Delivery

  When you do your assignments you need a lot of information. You search for information from books, the internet, and so on. One source of information is journals. In the globalized era you need to read not only domestic journals but also foreign journals to search for more useful information.    FRIC

  FRIC is a service provided by the Ministry of Education and KERIS. It provides the original text and delivery service for free to all of the researchers in the country for the purpose of strategic gathering of foreign journals and scientific articles. Nine universities signed on to FRIC designated into segments.

   Purpose of Service

  There are 3 purposes for FRIC. First, gathering foreign journals in each research field. Second, providing foreign journals in each field for free to the researchers in the country. Third, establishing a foundation to share foreign journals in the country.

   Support Center List by Field

  Nine universities signed on to FRIC taking care of several segments. Among them, CNU FRIC has implemented free support for foreign journal article in the areas of political science, diplomacy, law, administration, economics, and business science. The other schools handle other fields: Kangwon University undertakes the biotechnology field; Kyungpook University does the electrical, electronic, computer & information technology fields; Gyeongsang University undertakes the environment and energy fields; Korea University undertakes the field of the humanities; Busan University deals with the science and technology field; Yonsei University does the clinical medicine field; Ewah Womans University undertakes education, sociology, communication, and the arts field; and Chonbuk University does the agriculture and animal sciences field.

   How to Apply for Foreign Journal Article’s Text Copy and Delivery

  There are some sites you need to go to sign up for text copy. One of them is CUN FRIC (fric.cnu.ac.kr). When you enter this page, you can find foreign journals by searching the researcher, publication and so on. Also this page is divided by several fields like Administration and Business and by subject. So you can find them easily. The mobile website address of CNU FRIC is http://mfric.cnu.ac.kr. Besides that page, there are also the Korea Education and Research Library FRIC (www.riss.kr), the National Digital Library (scholar.ndsl.kr), and Foreign Research Information Center Homepage (www.fric.kr). Also, you can visit the Foreign Research Information Center in person at the library on the 3rd floor. The materials you applied for can be received to you through e-delivery, mail, and fax.
