Let’s Walk in Your Roommate’s Shoes

Let’s Walk in Your Roommate’s Shoes

   For a Satisfactory Campus Life

Do you live in a dormitory at CNU? Or do you go to CNU by using public transportation from your home? Wherever you live, this article will useful to everyone. If you live in a dormitory, you can have a chance to think about your roommate’s mind. Also, if you commute to school, you can learn about what living in a dormitory is like. Chungdae Post reporter (CP) conducted a survey to hear student’s opinion. Let’s look at it!

   1. Where Is the CNU Dormitory Located?

It takes 20 minutes from the main gate of Chungnam National University (CNU) to walk to the dormitory. If you are exhausted, you can take a shuttle bus on campus, either the A bus route or B bus route. It runs until 6 p.m. However, you can also take A Good Bus, which is run by the Student Association. It runs from dormitory to side gate of campus until 12 p.m.

  2. What Kind of Survey Did the CP Reporter Conduct?

CP reporter conducted a survey to listen to the lives of dormitory residents with their roommates for a week (from June 24th to July 1st). Its link was posted on the CNU bulletin board and the university community site. The survey was made up of objective and descriptive type questions. Forty students who have lived in the dormitory in the past participated in the survey.

   3. How Satisfied Are They with Their Roommate?

   4. What was The Most Memorable Experience While Living with their Roommate?

CP reporter was very interested in the results of the survey because 10 survey takers responded to this question identically. Let’s see!

   -10 survey takers:

The memorable experience ranked as the top was to have late-night meals with a roommate delivered by a delivery service. The most common choice of midnight snack was usually chicken. They need not worry about ordering delivery food because if they lived alone, they might feel strange to order for one person by delivery service.

   -The Others:

  * If they are in the same year as their roommate, then they can have informal conversations with their roommate by forming a social consensus.

  * They sometimes talk about each other’s date stories while lying down on their bed.

  * They were up all night studying for their major during examination periods.

   5. What Was the Worst Part of Living with Their Roommate ?

*Unless they have the same lifestyle and values, it can be very uncomfortable to live with a roommate. For example, they were very upset when their roommates didn’t put all their things back in their original spaces. Some roommates didn’t clean up their own things, even their own laundry.

*It was intolerable when roommate’s friends got together to the room without any prior notice. It’s okay to visit and stay at our room shortly, but it was very awkward when their friends stay too late .

*There were no big problems, but we have been so close that their life patterns became broken because the regulations had become meaningless finally.
