This book’'s title, “"Every Man”" is showing a story of a normal man. It starts with his death and then is followed by his childhood. To be more specific, the main character who became a spirit after death remembers his past day looking at the people surrounding his grave. He neither left behind remarkable achievements, nor had a special career. He always thought about his parents and chose a realistic and stable job rather than pursuing his dream and ideal. He wanted to paint a picture from his early childhood, but each time he was faced with reality that made him part give up his ambition. But after he retired, he can finally spend his entire time painting pictures. That is an extremely important part of this novel. This is the very moment that his dreams come true. However, he strangely gets bored with painting. Moving back to his late adulthood, he heard a lot about death and became afraid of his life. It is thought that the threat of death is more critical than his dream although he had the dream for a long time. Is the power of death really that strong? Is there anything that we can do to overcome many negative concerns about death? When people are faced with death, it is probably best way to think of death as one of the event which is unavoidable in our lives. Even though the death is still far away from us, it will be good to be more mature to think about death seriously.
I think, there is no more realistic description of life than “"Every Man”". We can just look at his life which begins with his death, because the author describes minutely controlling emotions.
