When you walk around campus, maybe you can see Cruiserboarders easily. Recently, cruiserboards which have minimized like skateboards is popular among young people. However, they have many problems related to safety! Let’s learn about how we can ride them with safety!

1. What Is a Cruiserboard?
A cruiserboard is similar in shape to a normal skateboard. The main difference is that it has trucks that are higher than the standard skate board and the wheels are also larger and much softer. Beginners can learn cruiserboards easily unlike the standard skateboard which requires extreme physical movements. So cruiserboards became popular recently, and for this reasons many students ride them on campus. But many pedestrians and drivers are complaining about these cruiserboarders.

2. Cruiserboards and Safety Problems
Cruiserboards don’t have brakes so if the boarder is not so cautious this might lead to a very serious accident. They also ride it on roadway because they can’t go fast on the bumpy sidewalk. So there have been many complaints about cruiserboarders related to safety. On CNU’s main community site “Uruniv,” many people discussed these problems.
◆ “My heart jolted when boarders missed hitting the car by a hair’s breadth!”
◆ “Whenever I drive, I have a terror of boarders surprisingly popping up.”
◆ “If boarders hit me by mistake it will cause a big accident! But they don’t wear any protective gear!”

Many people have discussed these problems. How can they ride in safety?

3. Safety Regulations to Enjoy Cruiserboards
First, the boarders have to wear protective equipment. Under existing rules of the road, a cruiserboard is classified as “high-risk moving ride” like a kickboard and inline skates. But many people don’t wear it because they feel uncomfortable with it and its cost is expensive. However, if boarders ride cruiserboards without protective equipment, it can lead to fracture, bruising, and brain damage in cases of accident. So they must wear it even though they are uncomfortable it!
Second, I recommend the boarders to enjoy cruiserboards in parks or playing fields. If an unexpected situation happened to them on the roadway which cars drive back and forth, they can’t handle it properly. What is worse, because they have no brakes it can lead a terrible accident. So they have to ride it in park or playing field! If they consider safety to be priority, both beholders and riders can enjoy it!
