In March of this year, the students who specialize in free major heard the news like a bolt from the blue. This news also shocked the president of the student, Lee Won-chang, who agreed to give an interview on the matter.

No Prior Notification and the Difficulty of Learning Information
At first, they knew the abolition of the department of free major through the media and there was no prior notification to students. Based on that article, they found the information with their own hands to refute. Although university headquarters managed to generalize administrative affairs, students examined it one by one.

Students’ Unstable Future
In the foreseeable future, they will participate in the job market and appeal to someone by emphasizing their departments’ merit. However, someone who heard their story will not have credibility with them. Maybe, they will give a question, “I think your story was very impressive. Well, why did your major disappear?” Students will not know what to answer.

Problem of the Process
The important point of the problem is that a reorganization committee-meeting was held on the summer vacation. This behavior is inappropriate toward students and represents the indirect exclusion of the students. That is, they don’t know anything concrete and what is right.

Want
They wanted no relation between top and bottom but a horizontal relationship and equal discussion that threw away the consciousness of authority. Finally, Lee Won-chang said, “The exam is required the form of discussion or essay questions, why don’t those methods be applied now? Why are you seeking closed-answer questions?”
