Vol.241. SEPTEMBER, 2012

I started to read the magazine. Even though the content looked mundane, it included more diverse stories than expected. It covered issues ranging from campus news to national issues. Especially, an article about crisis of 2030 generation in terms of marriage attracts me as I have ever thought about getting married at least over one time; it depicted many causes and results very well using graphs and statistics and made me considered about marriage.
In addition to this article, there were many other informative articles and alumni success stories. For example, one article introduced Jung Yung-Jin, a Chungnam National graduate who works as an editor at Wiki Press. He encouraged us to face many challenges en route to becoming successful. This message motivated me to have an industrious winter vacation.
This is one of the reasons I recommend everyone to read the Chungdae Post. By reading the magazine, you can become more knowledgeable and confident. Just hold this awesome magazine and take a step forward in your English language education in the New Year.

I became aware that there is an English newspaper at my university and learned it has published a number of issues. The most interesting article I examined was 'Making Aroma in Korea; The First Perfumer, Jung Mi-soon' in the Arts & Culture section. It was not just interesting but also easy to read, in that it was composed entirely of dialog with interviewees. In addition, I learned one of the biggest events in 2012, Yeo-Su Expo, was not that successful. This was contrary to information I have received from limited media outlets like television and radio.
One of the distinguishing features of the CNUPOST is that every article offers a good balance of factual evidence and writer opinion. For example, the Yeo-Su Expo article was well-written because it provided me with a good combination of the writer’s thoughts and his actual observation of events. However, I did feel a few things lacking in article treatment. I have written to the Chungdae Post to express my concerns, but haven't received a reply as of yet. Anyway, I know it's very hard to write just a few words in English. This is why I think highly of their efforts on writing ARTICLES in English.
Starting next week, I'm teaching Korean language to my Saudi Arabia friend by using English; our common language. I once wondered whether I would be able to perform this duty but I have decided to try based on the courage displayed by writers the Chungdae Post.

The Chungdae Post has been pleasant surprise! Before my friends and I were told about it, we didn’t ever know it existed! Anyway I read it from cover to cover this morning. After reading the article entitled, “The Butterfly effect,” I saw the movie. I often thought my behavior has pogound influence on the people around me. Upon further reflection, nobody knows whether behavior is right or wrong; neither do we know if we are interaction with angels or devils.
After reading the Post article I am aware of our effects on others, but I think we need not to apply cause-and-effect to everything. We just act and we wait to see how things turn out. We should keep a positive mindset and take a cheerful view of life, “Carpe Diem” I would inform them to do their best and enjoy the rest.
